Hi, my name is Michael Schubert and I have been a natural health practitioner, teacher and researcher since 1979. Beginning as a naturopath specialising in remedial massage and herbal medicine, I progressed my education to incorporate many modalities (disciplines), including:
- herbal medicine/phytotherapy
- tactile therapies
- nutritional medicine
- counseling and psychotherapy
- psychophysical healing
In addition, I have a Bachelor of Biological Sciences and a Master of Science and Society from the University of NSW (UNSW), and am at present doing postgraduate study in psychology at the University of New England (UNE).
I have also spent time as an academic (Southern Cross University), private college lecturer (Australasian College of Natural Therapies, NatureCare College, Sydney College of Traditional and Chinese Medicine) as a college principal (Sydney College of Traditional and Chinese Medicine), director (Australian Traditional Medicine Society, National Herbalists Association of Australia and Psychophysical Therapists Guild of Australia) and consultant (Global Initiative for Traditional Systems of Health, Commonwealth Health Ministers).
Most importantly I have been a practitioner for over 30 years, with tens of thousands of consultations that have provided me with a depth of experience in providing natural health and lifestyle solutions.
I still consult to a small number of individuals, particularly with regard to:
- stress, anxiety and depression;
- habits (including substances and emotional or behavioural patterns);
- chronic or life-threatening illness; and
- elite performance (sports, arts, career or life).
I spend most of my working time writing the ”solutions” books, recording hypnosis CDs, and working with small and large groups.
The Blood Pressure Solution is the distillation of over 30 years of clinical work, study and research. It is written after reflecting on the most practial way to help more people achieve their health and lifestyle goals using drug-free methods that really work. With this book, I had a personal incentive, as my blood pressure had become dangerously high, so I needed to walk my talk!
